Before the excitement at Eldora this week, let’s focus on the 35th annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park. This is a World of Outlaws sanctioned event, paying $15,000 to the winner. Brad Doty is a sprint car legend, an amazing advocate for the sport and a well-respected figure in the racing community. Drivers from all over the country will be showing up to win this prestigious event. Kyle Larson, the most recent winner of the Brad Doty Classic, will be in attendance against the Outlaws.
Joining Larson and the World of Outlaws regulars will be Tyler Gunn, Ian Madsen, Trey Jacobs, Daryn Pittman, Tyler Courtney, Cap Henry, Bryce Lucius, Buddy Kofoid, Zeb Wise, Rico Abreu, Chris Windom, Zeth Sabo and many others. We will continue to monitor driver schedules and post who else plans to compete.
Schatz Looks To Get His Groove Back Before Eldora
Donny Schatz has two wins, 21 top tens and is currently sitting in fifth place in World of Outlaws points. That would be a great start to the season for most drivers, but not Schatz. It’s been a disappointing start for the Tony Stewart Racing driver. However, the Brad Doty Classic cannot come at a better time for the 3-time winner of the event. One of his wins this season came earlier in the year at Attica Raceway Park with the outlaws. Donny will be one of the favorites going into the event.
Larson to Defend his Title
It’s always a fun time when Kyle Larson shows up with the Paul Silva no. 57 machine. Larson is the defending Brad Doty Classic winner and has won the event two times in his career. He gets around Attica well and is going to be hard to beat. Can he get his third win this week?

Some New (but familiar) Faces
A couple of new team combinations will be at Attica to shake down their rides in preparation for the Eldora Million. Former World of Outlaws champion Daryn Pittman will be behind the wheel of an Alex Bowman Racing no. 55 entry. Pittman comes out of retirement and has plans for the Eldora Million, Kings Royal and Knoxville Nationals this season.
Ian Madsen will find himself in the seat of the Sandvig Motorsports no. 7 for both the Brad Doty Classic and the Eldora Million. Madsen, who parted ways with his 2KS ride earlier this season, gets a deserving opportunity in the no.7 machine.
Attica Regulars Get a Chance at More Money
Attica Raceway promoter John Bores has offered an additional $2,000 to any driver in the top ten in Attica points if they can win the race. Eligible drivers include Cap Henry, Travis Philo, Stuart Brubaker, Bryce Lucius, Byron Reed, TJ Michael, Chris Andrews, Trey Jacobs, Jerry Dahms and Zeth Sabo.
If you can’t make it to Attica Raceway Park on Tuesday Night, tune in to Dirtvision to catch all the action. Reserve seats and camping spots are SOLD OUT! You will still be able to get general admission and pit passes the day of the event.
