An Extensive Investigation into the Henry Edward Eldora Million Entry

There is lots of speculation around entry #27 on the Eldora Million entry list. That spot is occupied by “Henry Edward” from Orlando, Florida. “Edward” will be piloting the no. 33 Maxim powered by a Toyota Racing engine. A quick Google/Twitter search for a “Henry Edward” will yield you nothing sprint car related. You will be flooded with random articles about King Henry or King Edward.

This leaves me to believe that Henry Edward is an alias for a surprise entry in the race. With little information available, I tried to break down some potential drivers that would enter under a fake name. I could also be one hundred percent wrong about this and we could just be watching a guy named Henry Edward tomorrow night at Eldora.

The Toyota Racing engine is the part that is a bit confusing here. I immediately thought of Christopher Bell, but we know Joe Gibbs doesn’t want CBell behind the wheel of a sprint car. Bell shut down his old no. 21 team, and now co-owns a team that employs Gavan Boschele. Maybe CBell is going behind Coach Gibbs’ back and will operate under Henry Edward with a fake mustache. I am in full support of this.

Next, I looked at the car number. The number 33 has some history behind it with Danny Lasoski. Lasoski won’t be driving the car, but he’s still very active in the sprint car scene. He worked with Mason Daniel during his short stint with the Outlaws. Daniel also drove the no. 33 but was forced to end his career early due to injuries. Lasoski now works with Dusty Zomer, but Zomer would have no reason to enter using an alias. Could the car be a tribute to Lasoski? It’s definitely not out of the question.

Another 33 car is Cap Henry. He is somewhat surprisingly missing from the entry list. Henry would also have no reason to use a fake name. It is ironic that they used Henry as the first name on the entry list though. I am ruling Cap out for this one.

Next, I looked at “retired” drivers since that seems to be a theme for the Eldora Million. The most obvious one is Joey Saldana. Saldana caused some buzz on Twitter when he commented that he would be at the million. He never said that he would be driving though. He has also said that he would never drive again, but that might have been before a million dollars was on the line. The “Brownsburg Bullet” obviously isn’t from Florida, but that could also just be a fake location for the entry. I am officially not ruling Saldana out for this one.

All of that Google searching for “Henry Edward” and coming across a bunch of Kings got my brain working. Saldana is a two time “king” when it comes to the Kings Royal.

The Eldora Million starts tomorrow and it sounds like we will just have to wait this one out until Walkapedia gives us the breakdown. Until then, this is all for laughs.
