The 2025 season is right around the corner and Ricky Peterson Jr and Chiappelli Motorsports are gearing up for a 70+ race campaign centered around Pennsylvania and Ohio. After joining forces with Tom and Fran Chiappelli midway through the 2024 season, Peterson and the team are going into 2025 with a fresh slate and new confidence.

After a long off-season of refreshing equipment, building cars, and cleaning trailers, the Chiappelli team is eager to start the season with the FAST Series at PPMS on March 15th. When they are not following the FAST Series, the team will mix in races around Western PA, Central PA and Ohio. The schedule will include some of Ohio Sprint Speedweek, all of Western PA Speedweek and a few World of Outlaw races in Ohio.

For Peterson, going into a season as a driver versus a driver/owner is a big relief off of his shoulders.

“Tom and Fran have been incredible to work with and have provided us with everything we need to be ready for the season,” said Peterson.

“Being focused on driving is really important and I feel like this is the most prepared that we have been heading into a season.”

For now, the plan is to race for the FAST Series championship and build their schedule around those dates. Depending on how the season starts off, some bigger events could be added to their tentative schedule.

“Once the FAST Series released their schedule, it made a lot of sense for me as a driver and for Tom and Fran as car owners to race for the championship.”

The team will kick off their schedule in March and April with local races against the PA Posse at Williams Grove and Port Royal. It will be a good way to see where their “big track” program lies early in the season.

Once the calendar hits May, the team’s schedule really ramps up, with multiple dates with the FAST Series, Western PA Speedweek, Ohio Sprint Speedweek, and the World of Outlaws. During the summer and fall months, the team plans to shift their focus to Western PA and Ohio.

“We built the schedule around the FAST Series and everything else added were races we know that we are prepared for. There is room to add/replace things depending on how our season is going.”

As the team awaits their season opener, they remain focused on building cars and making sure everything is ready for what they hope will be their best season yet. However, Peterson can’t help but be eager for things to get going.

“Tom and Fran have been super easy to work with and I am so appreciative of the opportunity they are providing me. All of the hard work and dedication during the offseason has me more ready than ever to get on the track.”

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the partners that keep this program on the track.
