Sprint Car action continued down under in Australia and New Zealand last night. In Australia, it was round four of Sprint Car Speedweek at Avalon Raceway. A star-studded field of drivers were in attendance at Avalon, with an impressive mix of talent from the United States and Australia. Over in New Zealand, it was the War of Wings round two at Central Motor Speedway.
At Avalon Raceway, the night began with both Jock Goodyer and Chase Randall experiencing problems during time trials. Goodyer was able to rebound nicely and win his heat, while Randall was forced to transfer out of a B-Main. Randall was joined at Avalon by fellow Americans Carson Macedo, Justin Peck, Riley Goodno and Aaron Reutzel. James McFadden was the overall quick time award winner and was joined by Marcus Dumesny, Reutzel, Brock Hallett, and Macedo as quick timers in their respective groups.
The early drama that kicked off the evening continued into the A-Main. James McFadden was forced to retire from the feature after contact with Aaron Reutzel. Marcus Dumesny was involved in an incident with Bobby Daly, causing both of them to end their nights early.
Ultimately, it was Carson Macedo crossing the line first and picking up the win. Macedo was followed by Brock Hallet, Reutzel, Jock Goodyer, and Jamie Veal. Justin Peck and Chase Randall both rebounded nicely from their B-Main transfer spots to collect top 10 finishes.

Down in New Zealand, you won’t find as many Americans in competition or as much coverage. However, young Californian racer Joel Myers Jr was able to pick up the win at Central Motor Speedway. American Brenham Crouch started the A-Main from the pole position in a feature that saw only 9 cars finish the race. Myers Jr, who started third, crossed the line first and was followed by Jamie Duff, Brenham Crouch, Bailey Paterson and Connor Rangi.
