If you’re like most, you focused all your attention on the Knoxville Nationals over the weekend. Though some tracks had an off weekend, a few outside of Iowa had some 410 sprint car racing going on. Rain washed away a few events, but there were nine other 410 races competed over the weekend. Eight winners, including a few first time winners in 2023, visited victory lane.

410 Winners

Carl Bowser (Lernerville)

Paul Nienhiser (Jacksonville)

Freddie Rahmer (Big Diamond)

Chris Myers (Ohio Valley)

Dale Blaney (Clinton County)

Boston Mead (Butler)

Freddie Rahmer (Lincoln)

Kasey Burch (SFC Raceway)

Jett Mann (Butler)

The Rundown

Freddie Rahmer just keeps winning. He invaded the Big Diamond Speedway on Friday night and took home the victory. The race did not go without some chaos, as multiple wrecks allowed only seven cars to finish the feature. One very scary incident saw a car flipping violently into the turn and directly toward spectators. Luckily the catch fence did its job or we could be having a completely different conversation.

Yeah…I think Big Diamond needs to stick to 358 mods. Those tires they have in the turns around the track are very problematic. If a car suffers mechanical failure going into the turn and clips on of those tires, it could be ugly.

On Saturday at Lincoln, Rahmer continued his dominance and won his fourth feature in a row. He now has 14 wins in 2023 at three different tracks. You can dislike him all you want but he’s been very impressive this year.

Dale Blaney picked up the win at Clinton County on Saturday. It was Blaney’s third win of the season. Chris Frank and Billy Dietrich rounded out the podium. 23 cars showed up for the Phil Walter Classic.

AJ Flick clinched the Lernerville track championship over the weekend. Flick has enjoyed a dominant season, collecting 12 wins, six of them coming at Lernerville. Carl Bowser picked up the feature win, followed by Flick and Brandon Spithaler.

Boston Mead and Jett Mann both picked up their first wins of 2023 at Butler on Saturday night.

Chris Myers topped a good field of cars with the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association on Friday. Kory Crabtree and Tyler Street rounded out the podium. It was Myers’ second win of the season.
