As of 7/4, 239 410 sprint car races have been completed. There are still 296 scheduled races remaining in the 2024 season. Since I have been tracking data, the average rainout count per week is about four races. That means we can assume that roughly 40-50 of the remaining 296 races will be cancelled due to weather or other reasons. Keeping that number in mind, the 2024 season is just about halfway over, so let’s see where things stand before the big money starts flowing.
These Guys Just Want to Race
Jacob Allen and Dylan Norris currently lead the way with 49 races under their belt so far in 2024. According to Dominic Scelzi on “The Driver’s Project,” Allen’s little social media feud with Gio Scelzi could be fueling Allen’s determination to race as much as possible. For Norris, this is his first year racing with his newly formed family-owned team, and the PA Posse regular is clearly doing everything he can to get more laps. As you will see, the Pennsylvania Posse members are dominating the top of the “race count” list. They simply have the most opportunity to race compared to the rest of the country.
- Jacob Allen (High Limit) & Dylan Norris (Posse) – 49 races
- Devon Borden (Posse) – 48 races
- Danny Dietrich (Posse) & Anthony Macri (Posse) – 47 races

Big Winners
Anthony Macri currently leads the Nation with 11 wins in 2024. Macri has returned to form and is good enough to win on any given night no matter who he is racing against. He and Danny Dietrich have dominated the Central PA scene, combining for 17 wins in Pennsylvania alone.

Consistency Wins Championships
As we have learned with Brad Sweet winning five consecutive World of Outlaw championships, it’s not all about wins. Sheldon Haudenschild is a great example of that in 2024, as his 7 wins are good for third best in the nation. However, Haudenschild finds himself just 7th in WoO Points, 242 points back on leader David Gravel.

Money is the Motivation
When listening to a few different sprint car drivers/team speak on the current state of sprint car racing, one thing is always a common theme: drivers are earning more money than ever before in 2024. With the addition of High Limit to the national scene, there are significantly more opportunities to make more money all over the country.
