The calendar has just switched to August and everyone in the sprint car world has switched their attention to Knoxville, Iowa. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I am back with my 3rd annual Knoxville 410 Nationals full-field breakdown.
When I do these previews, I take them very seriously, and use as much relevant data that I can find to make my picks. It is sort of like being a NCAA Basketball analyst during March Madness time. Accurately predicting a field of 100+ cars is nearly impossible, but I do my best to provide as much logical information in these previews as possible. As always, I will purchase a t-shirt from the driver/team that I am the most “wrong” about.
While I think it is important to go back in the history books and look at past results, with the tires, track surface, cars and competition changing so much in the past few years, I focus more on the last 2-3 years of data. With that being said, let’s take a look at the results from the 2023 and 2024 Knoxville Nationals.

410 Nationals Format
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY QUALIFYING NIGHTS
Order of Events: Hot laps, Qualifications, 5 Heats, C Main, B Main, 25 lap A Main.
Qualifications – 200 points are awarded for quick timer, 198 for second quick, 196 for third, etc.
Only the top 50 qualifiers each night make the heats, the rest are put in the last chance heats if needed in which the first eight finishers will fill the back of that night’s C feature (starting in the sixth row). If there are ten or less cars not making the heats, they will line straight up by time starting in the sixth row. The quickest will be given 50 points, the next 47, etc.
Last Chance Heats (for drivers out of the top 50 in Qual.) – 50 points awarded to the winner, 47 for 2nd, etc.
Heats – 100 points are awarded for the heat race winner, points go down by three for each position: 97, 94, 91, 88, etc.
Heats are inverted by 8. This sets up the best racing of the
week. Only the top four finishers go to A Main, fifth through eighth go to the B Main, finishing positions 9-10 go to the C Main.
C Main
Top four finishers go to back of the B. Fifth place is worth 92 pts., 6th is 90, etc.
B Main
The top four finishers transfer to the tail of the A. The B awards 142 points for fifth, 140 for sixth and so on by twos.
A Main
The A Main points are the same as time trials: 200, 198, 196 etc. This explains how a driver can not make the A, but if he timed well may have more points than someone who did make the A. The invert for the A Main is eight.
First tie breaker is finish position in respective main event. Next tie breaker is rank in time trial. The third tie breaker is the second time trial lap. Other tie breaking criteria may be implemented if needed.
A perfect score (quick time, heat win, feature win) is 500.
The top 16 in combined points from Wednesday and Thursday are locked in to Saturday’s Championship A Main, Teams 17th-26th in points are awarded the first 10 positions in the Saturday B Main. The rest of the field comes back for more racing on Friday.
FRIDAY HARD KNOX PRELIMINARY NIGHT
The top 4 finishers from the Hard Knox A-Main will earn the 21-24 starting spots in Saturday’s A Main. Friday’s event will consist of…
Split field Time Trials: 2 Cars, 2 Laps
Split Field into Group 1 and Group 2
Group 1 in heats 1 through 3
Group 2 in heats 4 through 6
6 Heats – Invert 4 (8 Laps)
Top 3 Transfer to the A Main
Finishers 4-9 go to the two B mains
Finisher 10 on back to the C
C main (10 laps)
Top 12 transfer to the two B Main’s
2 B Main’s (12 Laps)
Top 3 transfer to the A Main (Lined up by Heat Finish)
A Main (25 Laps)
Lined up by time
*The Friday format may change if there are any weather related scheduling issues.
CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY

- D Main, 12 Laps
- C Main, 15 Laps

The top four finishers of the B, C, D, and E Mains will transfer to the tail of the next event (if there are scratches, there may be more taken for a particular event). The top four finishers from the B Main will earn starting spots 17-20 in the A Main.
2025 Split Fields

2025 Knoxville Nationals Full-Field Prediction
*predictions for each main are not in any particular order*
E Main
Scotty Johnson – Johnson is a Knoxville regular who has struggled in his transition to 410 racing. He has a season best run of 18th and has struggled in qualifying, where he has been unable to crack the top 20 all season long.
Logan Julien – Julien is a promising young racer who is learning the ropes with the IRA Sprints. He made his Knoxville debut during the Capitanti Classic and, as expected, it was a struggle. Julien will learn more each time he hits the track, but his inexperience will definitely show.
Heath Nestrick – Like Julien, Nestrick made his Knoxville debut at the Capitani and it was also a struggle. He’ll likely fall behind early and not be able to recover.
Brandon Worthington – Worthington is a Knoxville regular who has posted a best finish of 19th. He’s a rookie, and this will be his first 410 Nationals.
RJ Johnson – RJ is a veteran racer who is just happy to still be competing. He races weekly at Knoxville and has a best finish of 19th.
Matt Wasmund – Wasmund has made just two starts at Knoxville this year. He was unable to qualify for either A Main.
Matt Vandervere – The IRA regular will be making his Knoxville Nationals debut. He’s coming off of a season-best 3rd place finish at Beaver Dam, but lacks the Knoxville experience that is so important during nationals.
Jack Potter – Potter has made just one 410 start at Knoxville this season. He was unable to qualify, and has struggled elsewhere in his 14 starts in 2025.
Austyn Gossel – The ASCS full-timer has a few 410 starts under his belt but has struggled in most of them. He had a disappointing 360 Nationals and I think he will struggle at the 410 nationals as well.
Jimmy Light – Jimmy Light has a surprising 11 starts at Eldora and Knoxville this season. That’s a lot of laps, but he has posted a best finish of 29th in those starts and has failed to make every A Main.
Scott Winters – Winters has run at Knoxville just 1 time in the last two seasons in a 410. He finished 18th during that race, but has not made any starts this season. He finished 3rd at the Huset’s season-opener, but has been unable to find the top 5 since.
Joel Myers Jr – Myers is another young driver with a lot of potential. He’s won a bunch of IRA races and has been improving as a driver each season. He has struggled a lot at Eldora and Knoxville, and I haven’t seen anything that will change that during nationals.
Henry Edward – The mystery man is likely not a real person. If he is, it could be a legendary Knoxville Nationals debut.
10V – TBA
Gage Pulkrabek – Pulkrabek has been able to put together some surprising qualifying performances at Knoxville this year, with his best being 13th. He struggles to put together complete nights and will likely fall behind early in the night.
Tyler Drueke – Drueke might run a little bit better than the “E Main.” He’s got 4 Knoxville starts this season, with a best run of 19th. He’s struggled in qualifying and that will definitely hinder his chances.
Brandon Spithaler – Spithaler has just one Knoxville start and had mechanical issues early in the night. He’s a talented driver but the inexperience at nationals will be a big problem for him. It wouldn’t shock me to see him run better, but this might be a year of learning for Spithaler.
Cole Mincer – Mincer has had some solid performances this season at Knoxville, especially in qualifying. He’s had finishes of 10th and 12th this year during time trials, and if he gets a good pill draw, could sneak a surprising prelim run in.
Jordan Goldesberry – The IRA veteran historically struggles at Knoxville. He has one start at Knoxville this year, but it definitely didn’t go as planned.
D Main
Chase Dietz – I was expecting a little bit of a better performance from Dietz at the 360 Nationals and at the Capitani, but he and his team are still learning. He was able to win a heat race on his 360 prelim night, but might need a good pill draw to put together a solid prelim during the 410 nationals.
Justin Whittall – Whittall is extremely good at Port Royal, and while it definitely doesn’t fully translate to Knoxville, the experience will help him get comfortable. He’s another guy who could surprise some people if he gets a good pill draw, but I think he will ultimately struggle as a rookie this year.
Lucas Wolfe – Wolfe is a veteran who has 55 starts at Knoxville in his career. He’s picked up a win, but that was back in 2011. His last top 10 at Knoxville was in 2018, and the lack of recent laps could definitely be a factor for Wolfe.
Skylar Gee – Gee has just really struggled this season with the Outlaws. He struggled at Knoxville during the Outlaws’ visit early in the season, and has historically struggled there throughout his career. He did have an 11th place run last season during Hard Knox.
Matt Juhl – Juhl benefitted from the pill draw last season and was fastest in qualifying during his prelim night at nationals. He has struggled this season at Knoxville, posting a best qualifying performance of 18th.
Kasey Jedrzejek – The King’s Royal pole sitter definitely turned some heads at Eldora. He’s had some recent laps around Knoxville in a 410 and 360, but I don’t think it will be enough for him to make some noise this year.
Hank Davis – Davis has bounced around in a few different rides this year and will be in the Beaver 12x for nationals. He struggled at the Capitani Classic, and I haven’t seen the speed out of this team recently to give me a ton of confidence.
Jack Anderson – Anderson has been an impressive rookie during weekly competition at Knoxville. What comes with being a rookie is inconsistency, and that has been a major part of Anderson’s season. He’ll benefit from all of the laps he has under his belt, and could put together a solid prelim night if he has a good pill draw.
Jacob Hughes – Hughes is another Knoxville competitor that has shown some good flashes this season. He has a season-best qualifying finish of 8th, but has struggled to put together complete nights.
Jason Martin – Martin is a veteran racer who could very well put together a solid performance this year. I think he lacks the speed in time trials to be able to set himself up for a good night.
Xavier Doney – Doney will be making his 3rd start of the season at Knoxville during nationals. He had a surprising 14th place finish back in July, and could benefit from those laps to put together a nice prelim.
Sammy Swindell – The legend could easily make a run at Nationals and I think that is something we would all love to see. It’s not that Sammy can’t get it done, it’s that he doesn’t race enough and neither does the car he is driving.
Derek Hagar – Hagar is a great driver who wins a ton of 360 races every year. He doesn’t have the laps at Knoxville and has struggled during his brief time with the no. 45 team.
Conner Morrell – Morrell just doesn’t have a great half mile package this year. He also doesn’t have a ton of laps around Knoxville and I think he will have a difficult time, especially if he doesn’t get a good pill draw.
Tasker Phillips – It has just been a year of bad luck and struggles for Tasker in the 410. Since parting ways with the BDS team, it hasn’t gone much better. He could definitely time well and set himself up nicely, but Tasker has struggled to put together complete nights.
Danny Sams III – Much like Tasker Phillips but on a National scale, it’s been a year of struggles for Danny Sams. He has plenty of speed when things go right and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him lay down a good lap in qualifying. He just doesn’t have a ton of laps at Knoxville and really struggled at Eldora this year as well.
Cap Henry – Cap Henry has been dominating the Ohio 410 scene this year. He has 9 wins, but none are at tracks that come close to resembling Knoxville. He ran 4th at Eldora during Ohio Speedweek, but has historically struggled during the Knoxville Nationals.
Josh Schneiderman – Schneiderman is a veteran who has a bunch of laps around Knoxville throughout his career. I just don’t think they will have the speed early in the night, and that will ultimately hurt his performance.
Kelby Watt – Watt has run well at Knoxville on many occasions in the past. It’s been an up and down year for the young driver, and he could certainly run well if everything goes right. He has struggled this year during qualifying at Knoxville, posting a best TT result of 12th.
Brooke Tatnell – Tatnell will have a great opportunity to run well in the TKS Motorsports car. He’s got the experience but I am not sure he will have the time to get comfortable in the seat.
C Main
Zach Hampton – It would surprise no one if Hampton ran well at Nationals this year. He ran for points last season, and has plenty of laps around the track. He’s been a surprise this year with the Outlaws, but has really struggled at the big events. He has momentum on his side heading into nationals.
Thomas Meseraull – I think the BDS Motorsports team has a good piece for Knoxville. T-Mez has a decent amount of laps around Knoxville in a 360, but not a ton in the 410. He has made two starts in the 410 this year, finishing 22nd and 16th.
Christopher Thram – Thram could make some noise if he can lay down a good lap in qualifying. He has solid performances during qualifying at Knoxville this year, with an average result of 11.6 (3 starts).
Cam Martin – On paper, putting Cam Martin in the C-Main might seem like a stretch, but, like Thram, he could really benefit from a good qualifying lap. If Martin gets a good pill draw, he has the ability to time in the top 15, something he has done twice this year.
Lynton Jeffrey – Jeffrey is a Knoxville veteran who has been super inconsistent this season. He has been able to find speed early in the night a few times, but has ultimately struggled in 2025.
Jake Bubak – Bubak qualified for the 360 Nationals and has shown speed in the 410 at Knoxville in the past. He’s definitely capable of having a great run, but I think he falls short in the 410 this year.
Clint Garner – The Knoxville veteran has always been good in the 360 but has struggled in the 410. He’s got 4 starts in the 410 this year, with a best finish of 8th. He’s definitely got a little more speed under the hood this year.
Jack Dover – Remember when Jack Dover won a heat race at nationals last year and then missed the scales? Yeah, he has speed at Knoxville but doesn’t have a ton of recent laps. In his one start in 2025, he finished 13th.
Tanner Thorson – Thorson has been fantastic in race trim this year, but has not been able to start off his night fast. He has really struggled at Eldora and Knoxville, and I worry that this team is still trying to figure out their package on the big tracks.
Sawyer Phillips – Sawyer is another Knoxville regular who has been really inconsistent this year. He has the speed to put together a good prelim night, but has struggled in race trim.
Kevin Thomas Jr – KTJ does have some laps at Knoxville this year. He made the Capitani Classic, and the Heidbreder 19 is definitely fast. He could be someone who surprises people this week.
Riley Goodno – Goodno has been much better at Knoxville in 2025. He has been able to put together consistent qualifying performances and some solid finishes. I think he could lay down a great lap if he goes out early during his prelim.
Blake Hahn – Blake Hahn just hasn’t had the speed in the 410 at Knoxville. He’s definitely talented enough to have a great prelim night, but nothing in recent memory is giving me a lot of confidence.
Brandon Wimmer – Wimmer is another veteran who is in a fast Team DGRD car. He’s got the experience to run well, but has been inconsistent in his 4 starts at Knoxville this year.
Landon Crawley – Crawley has a lot of laps at Knoxville this year. He really struggled to get comfortable in the 45x out of the gate, but has slowly improved throughout the season. He’s capable of putting together a complete prelim night that could set him up well for nationals.
Tim Shaffer – Shaffer put the Dutcher 17GP in the Joker’s Jackpot and the King’s Royal. I certainly didn’t expect that, as the 17GP has historically struggled on half miles. Shaffer is a Knoxville Nationals champion and can definitely get it done, I’m just not sure the 17GP is where it needs to be at Knoxville.
Hunter Schuerenberg – Schuerenberg has struggled a lot this year on tour with the Outlaws. I think his experience at Knoxville can carry him, but I don’t think it will be enough to make the A-Main this year.
Brady Bacon – Bacon shocked everyone when he made the Knoxville Nationals last season. He was decent at Eldora, but he hasn’t been as fast as I expected in the winged car this year. Bacon could easily have a better performance, but I think he falls short this year.
Terry McCarl – Terry McCarl probably has more laps at Knoxville than anyone in the field. He hasn’t been great in the 410 this year, and that doesn’t give me much confidence going into nationals.
Ashton Torgerson – What more can you say about Ashton Torgerson since he got behind the wheel of the 1A? He hasn’t always put together complete nights, but he’s really good early in the nights and that should benefit him. He doesn’t have Knoxville experience, but that hasn’t stopped him anywhere else. I think Jacob Allen will get him comfortable.
B Main
Chris Martin – When I was crunching the numbers for this preview, Chris Martin just kept jumping out at me. It’s not even because he was impressive at the 360 Nationals, but more so because he’s been incredibly consistent. He’s not racking up wins or top fives, but he’s timing around 10th and finishing in the top 15 on a weekly basis. I think their team is in a good position to surprise people this year.
Ayrton Gennetten – Gennetten is one of a few drivers who have a 410 win at Knoxville this year. He’s quietly been solid, and I think he is good enough to make a run to the B Main this year.
Jamie Ball – Ball hasn’t been great in race trim in the 410 at Knoxville this year, but he has timed in the top 10 3 times. He’ll have to have speed in qualifying if he wants to have a chance this year, but I think he falls short.
Chase Randall – On paper, it’s been a disaster for Randall at Knoxville and Eldora this year. He hasn’t really been passing the eye test this year either, but he has a ton of experience and he’s trying to make his 3rd consecutive 410 nationals. He’s talented enough, I am just not sure the car is where they need it to be right now.
Sam Hafertepe Jr – It may surprise some people, but I was seriously considering putting Hafertepe in the A Main this year. His struggles at the Capitani concerned me, but he’s definitely capable of timing really well on his prelim night. I just don’t think the Hill’s team is thrilled with their 410 program right now, and that might hurt his chances.
Tanner Holmes – Holmes has been logging more and more laps at Knoxville and it has definitely been helping him. He can’t seem to stay out of trouble, but he’s fast enough to run well on his prelim night. I just don’t think it will be enough for him to get to the A Main this year.
Garet Williamson – Williamson is another guy who I am on the fence about when it comes to making the A Main. He has a ton of laps at Knoxville and has won there before. I think the thing that is holding me back is the overall inconsistency. One night he could time in the top 5, the next he could be 30th.
Tim Kaeding – The Ikenberry 25 has looked pretty fast this year and has made the Knoxville Nationals in the past. Kaeding is a veteran who still has a lot of gas in the tank. He could be someone who surprises this week.
Justin Henderson – Henderson only has one start at Knoxville in 2025, where he timed 10th and finished 10th. He made the 2024 nationals and he is just someone who you can never count out at Knoxville.
Daryn Pittman – Pittman hasn’t had the best runs in the Lunstra no. 3 this year. Some of that may have been mechanical, but he definitely didn’t light the world on fire at the Capitani. He’ll be one to watch, as he always has a chance to make the Nationals.
Carson McCarl – I actually think Carson McCarl could make the 410 Nationals this year. He’s definitely been really fast in the 410, and has a quicktime under his belt. He’s been slightly inconsistent in time trials, but I think he’s in a great position to make the A Main this year.
Sye Lynch – Sye Lynch showed really good speed at the Capitani and he’s historically been good at qualifying for the big events. I think he has the speed to be near the top of the charts in qualifying if he has a good pill draw, which could set him up for a solid prelim night.
Danny Dietrich – Dietrich has looked pretty good off the porch this year. He ran well at Knoxville and Eldora. I still think the lack of laps he has in recent years could be his downfall, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see DD put it in the show this year.
Cole Macedo – I wish Cole Macedo ran the Capitani, as I really wanted to see where this team is at Knoxville right now. I think they are on the verge of making the A Main, and if everything goes right, they could very well do so.
Brenham Crouch – Brenham Crouch might seem like a stretch to make the B Main, but he’s quietly been consistent at Knoxville this year. He has timed inside the top 20 3 times, and made the Capitanti Classic. Don’t be surprised if Crouch has a good performance this year.
Bill Balog – Balog qualified for the nationals last season but things have not gone great for him at the big tracks this year. On paper, it looks really bad, but when you look deeper, Balog has qualifying runs of 6th and 9th this year at Knoxville. He could easily make the nationals again this year.
Chris Windom – Windom isn’t really someone who you think will run well in the winged car at Knoxville, and the results this year back that up. However, I really like what I have seen out of this team recently, and Windom was super consistent at Eldora. He could definitely be one to watch this year.
Kaleb Johnson – Johnson is having a great year in 2025. He’s been getting better at Knoxville, but one thing has been holding him back; qualifying. If he and the team can start off the night with a good lap, they could be on the verge of making the Knoxville Nationals.
Brock Zearfoss – Zearfoss hasn’t found victory lane yet in 2025, but he’s been quietly consistent. He has been a “B Main” car many times in the past at Nationals, and the team ran well at Eldora with the All Stars earlier in the year. I think he will be decent enough to make the B.
Justin Peck – I think this one will probably come back and bite me, but I am just not confident in the Rudeen 26 and their 410 program right now. Peck never misses the Knoxville Nationals A Main, but he might have to really earn this one. He looked solid during a weekly show last week, but struggled a bit in the Capitani.
A Main
Kyle Larson – Back to Back Knoxville Nationals titles is all that needs to be said about Larson. He has finishes of 2, 1, 3 and 3 at Eldora and Knoxville this year. The Silva 57 will be fast as always.
Rico Abreu – Rico is a legitimate threat to dethrone Larson this year. I don’t put much weight into the 360 Nationals, but Rico has been equally as fast as Larson in the 410 this year. He’ll be there when it counts on Saturday.
David Gravel – Gravel has been the class of the field with the World of Outlaws for two straight seasons. He’s always been a great qualifier, but has actually been slightly worse at Knoxville. He’s got an average qualifying result of 7.6 in 3 starts this year. There still should be no doubt about Gravel making the A Main.
Ryan Timms – Timms was an easier pick for me than many of the big names and usual suspects. He’s been absolutely incredible at Knoxville and so has the Liebig Motorsports no. 10. There is no reason why he can’t be one of the high point earners after prelim nights.
Gio Scelzi – I really think Gio will be a top 5 car on Saturday at the Nationals. He looked really fast and comfortable at the Capitani and he has always been a contender to win at Knoxville. He will be there when it counts on Saturday.
Brian Brown – Brown is in the best position he has been at Knoxville in years. He’s won a few races, but has been super fast and consistent in qualifying. He looked good during the Capitani and should be a contender on Saturday.
Austin McCarl – McCarl has been incredible at Knoxville this year, especially in qualifying. He has an average finish of 5.4 and looked strong during the Capitani. McCarl should have no problem making the A Main this season.
Logan Schuchart – Schuchart is just Mr. Consistent at Knoxville. He hasn’t had the greatest performances in recent shows, but he is always fast enough to be there on Saturday.
Corey Day – Corey Day has an impressive win at Knoxville this year against a strong field of cars. There’s always a risk with Day that he might get too aggressive and wreck, but he should definitely be fast enough to lock in.
Emerson Axsom – Axsom has very impressive numbers at Knoxville in his young winged 410 career. He made the big dance last year and is in a good position to do so again. The KCP 18 is fast at Knoxville and Axsom has timed in the top 5 4 times this year.
Kerry Madsen – The MadMan has been incredible at Knoxville this year. He doesn’t have a win, but he has timed inside the top 5 on 7 different occasions. He has an average finish of 11.1 at Knoxville and Eldora this year and should be a lock to make the A Main.
James McFadden – I wasn’t really questioning this pick before the Capitani, but that performance shut down any doubts I had. McFadden is just flat out good at Knoxville and the Tarlton 21 is clearly rolling right now. He should be in contention for high points earner after prelims.
Anthony Macri – King Anthony has always been consistent at Knoxville. He’s not always battling for a win, but he’s always in the show. The 39M is extremely fast right now and they should be able to perform well enough to lock in.
Justin Sanders – Sanders looked like he got comfortable behind the wheel of the RSR 87 during the Capitani. He made huge gains and that car is going to be fast enough for him to get the job done. He’s made the A-Main in the past and I think he does it again this year.
Brent Marks – Marks’ performance at the Capitani gave me a little more confidence in the Murray/Marks 19. He hasn’t been as fast as he has been at Knoxville and Eldora, but he’s still consistent enough to make the show.
Carson Macedo – The JJR 41 is always one of the cars to beat at Knoxville. I think this team is starting to click at the right time, and Macedo should be someone to watch all week long.
Brad Sweet – Through all the chaos at KKR, Brad Sweet still managed to qualify for the Capitani. He’s obviously got the laps and he knows what it takes to qualify for the nationals. He’ll do enough to put himself in a good position for make the A Main.
Buddy Kofoid – Despite his incredible 2025 season, Buddy Kofoid concerns me a little bit at Knoxville. He’s obviously fast enough, but the team has historically struggled here in the past. Kofoid has only timed inside the top 10 once in 3 starts this year. I still think he gets the job done and locks in.
Parker Price-Miller – PPM is really good at Knoxville and the Indy Race Parts machine is fast enough to lock in. He’s been really inconsistent in qualifying, and despite not making it into the A during the Capitani, I think they showed that they have the speed this year.
Donny Schatz – For the 3rd straight year, Donny Schatz comes into the Knoxville Nationals with question marks. Will this finally be the year he doesn’t make the A Main? He needed a little bit of luck last year, but I actually feel pretty good about Donny this year. The track has been pretty technical recently, and that will play in his favor as always.
Sheldon Haudenschild – Like Corey Day, there are always concerns with Sheldon that he might get too aggressive and junk the thing. He’s been pretty fast recently, and usually does just enough to lock himself into the A. I think that is the case again in 2025.
Daison Pursley – Pursley is another guy who, if you look at the numbers, they are not very good. However, he did exactly what I needed to see during the Capitani. We all knew he could lay down a good lap in qualifying, but could he back it up with a complete night? The answer was a convincing yes, and there’s no reason he can’t do it again.
Spencer Bayston – Bayston has been receiving a ton of hate this season. Some of it has been earned, but a lot of it has been flat out terrible luck. Still, while he didn’t exactly turn any heads at Eldora, he was one of the most overall consistent guys. You can say the same about him at Knoxville over the years. I think he will be fast enough on his prelim to set himself up nicely to sneak into the A.
JJ Hickle – I had to sneak one more Knoxville regular into the A because I do think they have a slightly greater advantage than usual this year. I don’t really have data to back that up but I just feel that way after watching a lot of weekly shows. It was really between Hickle, Kaleb Johnson and Carson McCarl. Hickle might be the worst of the 3 on paper this year, but I really liked what I saw out of him at the Capitani. He needs to be more consistent during qualifying if he wants to make the show, but the Matt Moro 2M has done it in the past and so has Hickle.
