The 2024 sprint car season is finally starting to ramp up. We have had plenty of World of Outlaws, High Limit Racing and PA Posse action to keep us occupied, but now the Midwest hopes to join the fun. Knoxville Raceway hopes to avoid the cold temperatures and get their season started on Saturday. Track officials have already moved the start time up in hopes of getting the show in.
In Wisconsin, the Bumper to Bumper IRA Series has already lost multiple shows due to rain this season, but hope to start their season at Beaver Dam on Saturday.
Let’s dive in to some news and notes to get ready for the weekend.
Knoxville Raceway
It’s a beautiful thing when sprint cars are making laps around Knoxville Raceway again. The 2024 regular season championship battle begins this Saturday, 4/20. As always, it looks like we will see a strong field of regulars for the majority of the season. Most, if not all of the drivers below intend to race at Knoxville for the championship. Others have multiple Knoxville weekly shows on their schedule.

Other News & Notes
Anthony Macri has returned home to Pennsylvania for a 3-day weekend. He will be at Williams Grove on Friday, Lincoln on Saturday and Selinsgrove on Sunday. Macri could walk away with over $30,000 if he can win all three.
Sye Lynch is expected to continue racing with High Limit through the weekend and at Riverside on Tuesday. Lynch has put together some strong runs to start his 2024 season.
Hunter Schuerenberg has been announced as the driver for the Ikenberry “Deuce 5” Motorsports team. Lachlan McHugh backed out at the last minute and Kerry Madsen was filling in for the week. Schuerenberg, who already has two other rides lined up, will be at Knoxville on Saturday. A full schedule has not been released, but it will be interesting to see how much Hunter % will be in the 25. Take a look at Schuerenberg’s projected schedule behind the wheel of the newly formed Heidbreder Motorsports team and the Hayward Motorsports no. 19. Add in his time in the no. 73 over the weekend, and Schuerenberg will be in 4 different cars before May is over.

Other local 410 action kicks off at Lernerville, Mercer, Jacksonville (IL) and Wayne County this weekend. The AFCS will race at Attica on Friday and Fremont on Saturday. The OVSCA will kick off their season at Ohio Valley in West Virginia. Selinsgrove Speedway will hold their first 410 show of the season on Sunday.
