As we get deeper into the offseason, more announcements are coming in for the 2024 season. This week, we got news that Brenham Crouch would be moving on from the IRA Series and over to full-time High Limit competition. The 18-year-old hot shoe from Lubbock, Texas made great strides in his first full season behind the wheel of a 410 sprint car. But Crouch was not the youngest driver to make headlines this week, as 15-year-old Landon Crawley was announced as the new driver of the Jason Sides’ Motorsports no. 7S. Crawley will turn 16 in January and is set to replace Robbie Price as a full-time World of Outlaws driver in 2024.

With the usual suspects announcing their plans daily, Crouch and Crawley will be new faces that will be competing at the highest level against some of the best drivers in all of dirt racing. Both drivers recognize that there will be challenges, but it is nothing they are not ready for. Before you let the lack of experience fool you, let’s meet two of the bright young stars that will be trying to make a name for themselves in 2024.

Brenham Crouch is no stranger to winning championships. In 2022, he was still racing midgets, and captured the POWRi Midget title. He beat the likes of Taylor Reimer, Jade Avedisian, Bryant Wiedeman, Cannon McIntosh and Chase McDermand. Along the way, he made three 410 sprint car starts in 2022, collecting one top 10 in POWRi 410 action.

In 2023, Crouch and his CMS Racing no. 1 team followed the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) 410 Series. He started his season in Florida and Texas against the All Stars and Outlaws, and it was a bit of a struggle out of the gate. It wasn’t until April at 34 Raceway in Iowa that things started to look up. Crouch earned his first top 10 in IRA/MOWA competition against a strong field of cars that included Austin McCarl, Cory Eliason, Chase Randall, Joe B Miller, Bill Balog and Parker Price-Miler. His first top 10 of 2023 would propel him into a season of consistency that would gain him valuable points-racing experience.

Despite only winning one race in 2023, Crouch won the IRA Championship by nearly 300 points over series ace Jordan Goldesberry. He became the first driver in IRA history to win the championship and the rookie of the year award in the same season. His incredible 21 top-five finishes throughout the season is the type of consistency that is needed to excel at the highest level. Crouch knows the competition will be tougher, but it is something he is looking forward to.

“I feel like it’s going to be a really good experience and will make us better at big-purse shows. Those big purses are going to bring more guys with experience, and that’s just going to make us propel ourselves forward.”

The name Crawley might sound familiar to sprint car fans around the country. Tim Crawley is a three-time ASCS National Sprint Car champion who had four wins as recently as 2022. During that 2022 season, Tim raced alongside his then 14-year-old son, Landon, knowing in the back of his head that he would soon be shifting his focus to support his young career.

Now, Landon Crawley has been announced as the newest driver of the Jason Sides’ Motorsports no. 7S, a historic car that has been apart of the World of Outlaws for over 20 years. The move came as a bit of a shock to some, as Crawley does not turn 16 until January and only had two true 410 starts in 2023. Those starts came at the end of the season in POWRi competition behind the wheel of the Sides’ no. 7S. It didn’t take long for Crawley to hit his stride, as he finished sixth against a strong field of cars that includes Aaron Reutzel, Cory Eliason and Sam Hafertepe Jr.

Crawley is the first rookie to officially commit to a full World of Outlaws campaign in 2024. He won two races in 360 competition, including a big one at the Greg Hodnett Memorial at Riverside International Speedway. The new challenge won’t be easy, as Crawley will be faced with a brutal schedule filled with tracks that he has never raced at before. It is a challenge he is up for and he believes that he has the right resources and support system in place to make the 2024 season a success.

“I am excited to drive for the Sides 7s Motorsports team knowing the vast amount of knowledge and experience that Jason and his team have with the World of Outlaws over the years.”
